Guest guides

Three guides, measured from this door

Ten things to do, ten sights and hikes, and five tables worth the drive. All three exist as a printable one-page sheet as well, because the cell service on the mountain is not what anybody would call reliable.

Things to Do

Everything here is within 90 minutes of the cabin door, and every drive time was measured door to door. Prices are 2026 adult admission. The number is its place in the drive, not a ranking — the best thing on this page is eighth.

Sights & Hikes

Wears Valley puts you on the quiet side of the park, so most of these start closer to you than to anyone staying on the Parkway. Distances are round trip, drive times were measured from the cabin door, and every closure below was checked against nps.gov.

Where to Eat

Every one of these is highly rated on both TripAdvisor and Yelp — not just one of them — and we measured every drive time from our own front door rather than taking it from a brochure.

Why these and not the usual list

Every drive time on all three guides was measured door to door from this cabin in Google Maps — not from the front gate of the community, and not from “the Sevierville area.” That is why some of ours are longer than the numbers you will see elsewhere.

The restaurants had to rate well on both Tripadvisor and Yelp, not either alone. The hikes are ordered by effort rather than rating, and every closure was checked against nps.gov rather than a blog. The things to do are spread deliberately across a theme park, a rainy day, something free, something for toddlers and something underground.
